Why are religious people more likely to support torturing people?

I would suggest that critics explore the "fear" part of religious adherents, that would make much more sense to me than torturing heretics. You are out of touch. In our day and time it is only the Muslims and Secular states (like the Chinese and Koreans) who are torturing various Christian sects.
