I miss him and i try to get over it. what to do?

I was with a guy that you would call my first love and it has been almost a whole year since we broke up. I try to get over him but i doont seem to even we i try my hardest. i even had a counsler but i tru to talk to him and its like he reads but never writes back. i dont know what to do and i really would like to stop crying. Help me PLASE!!
