How about doing Astrophysics?

I am a B.E (Electronics) graduate presently I am working as a verification engineer in avionics domain. I am intrested in astrophysics so I want to do my master degree in Astro physics so is it good for my job profile or my job experience is not of use after doing Astro physics or any branch in astro physics which relates my job profile. Please suggest
