Has anybody had any success with the Atkins Diet? details please!?
The Atkins Diet is NOT a healthy choice. Deprivation of carbohydrates leads to depletion in the muscles; not only fat cells. The most effective way to lose weight is a balanced diet (not following the food pyramid either). The most effective way to lose fat cells is by reducing your intake of carbohydrates but not completely eliminating your intake since your muscles need them. Muscle weighs more than fat and also requires more calories. The more muscle you build up, the more calories and foods you love you will be able to enjoy. With the Atkins Diet, you may see results fast but in most cases, people tend to gain back twice the weight. Your best bet is to see a nutritionist who can develop a personalized work out and diet plan just for you since all these books and websites are usually universal, and uni; treating men and women like they are the same. Women need to work twice as hard to lose weight so you are probably best off with a nutritionist who can develop a plan for you, male, female, tall, short, fat, skinny.
